I’ve learned to never say never anymore.
Things I’ve said never to in the past years:
“We’ll never have more fish. We only have bettas available.”
(Now we have hundreds of breeds of community fish!)
“We’ll never have live crickets for sale. Nowhere to keep them.”
Now we have a tub of them. Not too many complaints from staff who have to look at them in our back room!
“Sorry, we don’t have a grooming room.”
Just kidding, we blew out the wall and took over some extra space to make room for it. Now we’re celebrating 5 years of grooming!
“We don’t sell animals. I believe in getting animals adopted from rescues.”
I still believe in supporting rescues.. and I do! But now we also have hamsters, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils, rats, Budgies, finches, conures, cockatiels, lovebirds, etc.!
“I won’t hire anyone younger than 18years old.”
And for this, I am sorry! I have learned my lesson. The students we employ here are amazing. I will always have student workers!
“Sorry, we can’t order that.”
