We are looking for a new manager!!!!
Summerside Farmers Market: Market Manager position
The market manager is a part time position (20hrs/week) with primary responsibility being the
day to day operation of the farmers market. This will include an on site presence at the market
during market hours as well as off site work during non market hours. The manager will report to
the board. Remuneration based on experience.
Duties (include, but are not limited to the following)
! Collect applications, payments and insurance certificates, submit payments, any banking
necessary (deposits, etc.)
! Ensure public health regulations are adhered to
! Answer questions for vendors and consumers
! Resolve disputes
! Maintain market grounds in a safe manner, report required repairs to the board
! Communicate market policies, activities, and rules to vendors keeping them informed
throughout the season
! Bring suggestions from vendors to the board
! Conduct periodic customer counts or other form of measuring the market each season
! Open market each week and ensure the market area is clean once the vendors have left for
the day
! Maintain information on vendor contact information
! Keep social media and website updated
! Vendor recruitment if required
! Work with the marketing committee to plan advertising, promotions, special events, etc.
! Market layout, vendor placement as applications are approved
! Event planning
! Attend regular board meetings to plan the market season, prepare agendas, financial reports
! Qualifications
! Good communication skills
! Self‐motivated
! Conflict resolution abilities
! Organized
! Excellent computer skills andmedia knowledge
! Able to lift and carry 50 lbs
