In June 2020, design curator Dung Ngo commissioned Rob Wilson to paint a mural on the boarded storefront of Bookmarc based on the theme of “Unity Through Books.” Nearly a year later, the mural boards have been upcycled and transformed into a suite of unique furniture pieces by architect/designer Giancarlo Valle.
The pieces will be auctioned by Phillips in the New York Design sale on June 9. 100% of proceeds will benefit The Center’s RiseOut, an initiative that advocates with and for LGBTQ New Yorkers, particularly those in the BIPOC and TGNCNB communities.
