Good morning! In this picture we have a Foot X-Ray machine. This machine and others like it were found in shoe stores in the 1930's and were a tool used to help size customers for shoes. It worked by having customers try on shoes and then place their feet inside the machine which then allowed the sales person to see how the shoes fit. Once the dangers of x-ray radiation became known these machines quickly vanished from shoe stores and today we have safer means of ensuring shoes fit properly.
